Nourish Your Skin




To achieve healthy skin it’s important to eat right. Healthy skin thrives on whole foods that provide vital nutrients. A healthy diet helps manage inflammation to the body and keeps skin clearer and helps the slow down aging skin.


Essential Fatty Acids

Essential Fatty Acids are anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is the root cause of acne, psoriasis and other autoimmune skin conditions. There are several foods that are high in essential fatty acids. Wild caught fatty fish including salmon, sardines and mackerel are high in omega 3. Walnuts are rich in ALA and vitamin 3, both of which protect the skin and fight inflammation. Sunflower seeds contain linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid that moisturizes the skin.


Antioxidants

Orange, red, yellow and green vegetables and fruits are important in terms of skin health. These foods boast antioxidant phytochemicals that can neutralize the damage free radicals cause and help protect the collagen in skin from oxidative stress.


Vitamin C

Vitamin C is full of antioxidants which help defend the skin from oxidative stress and free radicals. It also encourages collagen production to keep your skin looking plump and healthy which keeps you looking younger. Oranges, bell peppers, tomatoes, and strawberries are all great sources of vitamin C.


Water

Keeping your body properly hydrated will help reduce puffiness, flush out toxins from the skin and help protect against breakouts. Your skin needs to be hydrated so drinking enough water is important. Carrying a water bottle throughout the day is a great way to ensure you’re drinking enough water.


Exercise

In addition to eating healthy, exercise is great for your skin. Physical activity improves blood flow to the skin’s surface, giving you a healthy glow
